Team Valley Motorcycle Training
125 "Restricted" License Courses
If you are between 17 and 21 and do not currently hold a motorcycle license, then you will be restricted to riding a motorcycle with less than 25kW/33bhp of engine power, for the first two years of your license. Courses for people between 17 and 21 are therefore completed on a 125cc motorcycle.
This is in contrast to the Direct Access test which can be completed by persons over 21 years of age, which entitles you to ride any size or power of motorcycle as soon as you pass your test.
Once you have completed your CBT you can progress to training on a 125cc motorcycle, such as the one illustrated, and obtain your license and pass your test on a 125cc motorcycle.
Note that whilst persons under 21, or persons taking their restricted test, must complete their test on a 125cc motorcycle or less, once you have passed your may ride any size motorcycle so long as the power is restricted to 25kW/33bhp (restrictors can be fitted to any motorcycle for a small fee from our garage).
